Arvus and Ve'ahavta

I had a general thought about an approach to the concept of Arvus, Tochacha, and Ve'ahavta Lereyacha. What if you were told that your reward was not given to you on an individual basis but rather reward was shared collectively by your generation (the opposite spectrum is obvious). How would you treat your fellow Jew? What approach would you take to Tochacha, kiruvv, etc.

In kabbalah there is a lot discussed with regard to the collective "neshama" I think.
